For the riders, this event should be an enjoyable mix of trying to clean 'sections' whilst racing against the clock to post a fast time around the short 'course'. The inspiration for this event comes from the 'Kick Start' events that were very popular on UK television in the early 80's. There are some great youtube vids from 1982, featuring Trials hero's Eddy Lejeune and Bernie Shreiber competing in 'Kickstart 1982 Easton-Neston'. This will give you some idea for what's in store at Moto-Fest, Queensland Moto Park, Sunday 27 September.
Motorcycling Queensland are still accepting entries for this event, it is done online through www.nominate.com.au
A recent entry is Australia's top female Trials rider, Kristie McKinnon. Kristie is going to compete in all three disciplines on offer at Moto-Fest- 'Dash for Cash' moto-x, Enduro-X and the 'Kick Start' trial which also has some prizemoney on offer. There is also a 'sport' class alongside the 'expert' class. The 'sport' class is set on an easy 'C-grade' line, making the event possible for more riders to enjoy. There is also $150 each for highest placed Junior, Twinshock, Veterans 40+ and Womens entrant. Moto-Fest is a great opportunity to expose Trials and it's broad appeal to the general public.
