Re: non stop rules

Seems to me the only way to slow Bou down is for him to break a rib, he still rode beautifully in Japan from the youtube vids I have watched though. I didn't see anywhere I could have called a stop on him either. The riders whether they like the rule or not have no difficulty riding to it. They will...

Re: non stop rules

And, as for the uninitiated spectators who booed the strict observers, well I'm glad someone brought it up. From my casual observations on the Saturday there were encouragingly many new spectators of this event or even of motorcycle trials in general, fantastic value for money. Unfortunately many h...

Re: non stop rules

Look I'm not questioning the good work you observers are doing or saying that you are anything other than human. I just don't think 5 points is the right weighting for the offence. You could fall off your bike completely, you could ride over the tape, etc... and get the maximum. That is what I'd ex...

Re: non stop rules

Just my opinion, but unlike all the other things you can loose points for in comparison stopping momentarily is a pretty subjective thing. The fact that it is a 5 as opposed to a 1 must affect the observers judgement when scoring the best in the world. I bet you if they were scoring ones for stoppi...

Re: non stop rules

Well I think it is simple. If it is a one point penalty then onservers will be less reluctant to apply the rule. Its a worthwhile discussion, I for one am enjoying it.........Lets have a wander through it further then. An observers job is to........... ensure the riders follow the rules of the tria...

Re: non stop rules

The non stop rules exist, they are a fact in many countries now. Observers NEED to learn to score them, like them or not. Take a look at the results from the 125 and world cup. Even with less severe obstacles due to the flow of the section non stop rules mandate, AND observers not calling stops, mos...

Re: non stop rules

Its made out to be a very difficult thing to observe non stop trials. Its not. If forward motion of the motorcycle ceases for whatever reason its a failure. Yes its a 5 and seems harsh, but they are the rules. Its like ANY other call you make in a trial, for dabbing, leaning, backwards, crossing tra...

Re: non stop rules

Hey Steve, you dislike non stop rules. You aren't alone in that. This was **NOT** A CLUB EVENT, its a world championship, sheep stations may well ride on the outcome. I make no apologies for being strong and strict at my section. For mine I dislike observers who choose not to enforce the rules that ...

Re: non stop rules

Hello everyone, just finished observing at Maldon and have to say it was a very interesting experience. I observed also 2 years ago so had a pretty good comparison. Knowing it was non stop rules being applicable I downloaded every youtube video I could of last years world championship and the offici...
