I swear by impact Rattle Guns. My 1/2 inch Air Gun has never let me down as a professional Mechanic. Make sure that a heavy duty impact socket attachment is used. Light weight tools do not transfer the impact energy to the offending bolts/ nuts ,erc. using a breaker bar will often result in a broken...

Re: Montesa Cota 247 kick start

Is the connection from the Carb to the Air Filter rubber tube a screw on fitment, ( like the Bell mouths)
I can always buy a new Amal Carb but I doubt if the large Bell Mouth connector would be included and I wonder if it was a special Montesa item ?

Re: Montesa Cota 247 kick start

Nice Bike. With the original Air Filter Box, is the Carb. the original Amal? Or a Mikuni conversion. If so did you have to have an adaptor made up ??
Thanks Sean in Sydney.

14 mm decompressor Valve

try as I may I cannot find any information on adapting a 14 mm Valve to the threaded spare hole in the Cylinder head of my 247 T Cota. The Head thread hole is approximately 11 mm and probably Metric. Will it safely tap out to 14 MM ? Or is an adaptor available somewhere ?. Thanks Sean :D :NSW: P.S A...
