Yamaha TY175 SOLD

Recent ankle replacement means that I cannot ride trials any more :( , so my project TY has to go. It was built over a 10 year period and has been used at 5 events in 2019. Engine rebored and fully rebuilt with all bearings and seals. Full WES exhaust system with stainless front pipe. Lightened flyw...

Re: TY175 not firing

This reminds of my first TY rebuild... When assembling the engine, I thought it would be good to cram the main bearings with grease to aid running in. Of course it didn't start, or even try, I checked everything over and over. Eventually i tipped a spoonful of fuel into the spark plug hole and it fi...

Re: The beginning of a new project

Thanks Galps,

I still have a box of TY parts left over from my two builds, if you get stuck for anything let me know, I may be able to help.
Here's my previous 175, sold now.

Re: new TY175 kickstart lever assemblies

I had my 175 kick start re-chromed but when assembled was so worn there was no way the spring and ball would stay in place. I improvised for a while with a rubber strap, then recalled a thread on Trials Central regarding a trick 175 with a WR200 kicker. I purchased a 96 WR200 kicker from Ebay and it...

Disregarding the changes, that looks like the late Tom Arter complete with footing coat in deepest muddy Kent, UK. Famous for the Arter Matchless racing machines and later an Ossa dealership. :D

Re: Twin Shocks for sale

Rod is very correct! I rebuilt a 76 TY175 a few years ago to original spec, every bearing, crank, down to the last nut and bolt. It became a bit of an obsession to be honest. I kept a spreadsheet to track costs and although very nice, the final cost was around $6k!!! So, I embarked on building anoth...
