Re: Kill Switch

If you got a lot of bikes and want a cheap Magnetic switch and you got time to muck about you can make one. I use a window reed switch with a small rare earth magnet. Link to switch on ebay is attached. They are wired for both NO and NC. Ebay also has the small rare earth magnets. I have made three ...

Re: TY250 Exhaust Burn Out

Be careful I ruined an exhaust by leaving it on a hot bonfire for to long. If you leave it on for to long you will completely burn out all the packing and the exhaust does not perform properly.

Re: TY 250 Improvements

Hi Jools Good to see people using this tread. I bought a 2008 Beta 4t a year ago and its much much easier on the old bones and no broken swing arms. However this weekend I am back on the TY250. This TY has a set of NJB steel stocks. Only adjustment is the spring preload via a clip. I must say I am p...

Re: Removing carbon

Hi Again What size window would u need to repack the main muffler?? My thought was that i would split the weld along the main chamber along the sides. Then cut through one side to remove one side only the entire wall of the main chamber. Then remove all the old packing. Then stuff the entire chamber...

Re: Removing carbon

Hi Guys When i burnt out my exhaust I did not realize there was an inner layer of packing. I put it on a raging fire and it burnt it out to much. It run very poorly and needed the main jet reduced. The exhaust felt really light but much noisier. I cut a hole in it and found the packing gone. So I ga...

Re: Removing carbon

Hi Just a word of warning. I built a fire and tossed my ty250 exhaust on it several years ago and it burnt the guts out of it and the exhaust was stuffed. Too much heat can burn out the old packing inside the main chamber and change the exhaust characteristics. Not sure if other bikes are the same a...

Re: Tank Dent removal - Other than cutting and welding

Yeh Pop I know what you mean about the sikafex going off. I keep all my glues in a fridge and the sikaflex polyeurothane still gets wasted. Someone told me that the Gorilla glue has a similar problem and it goes off after a while. Any way the gorilla glue was tested out on my sons boot in a pretty w...

Re: Tank Dent removal - Other than cutting and welding

Good job with the tank David Well glue! That's another topic of interest for those keen to mend things and save a few bucks. And trials boot being expensive are always something worth fixing with a bit of glue but what glue??? I tried the Kwick grip to glue on my my alpine stars and it lasted only a...
