Re: Ossa

I am pretty sure the early Ossa trials bikes were red with a white diagonal stripe, that is before the white and green MAR's. However I have never seen one in the flesh.

Re: Basket Cases

I am pretty sure Berlatier finished the world championship in fourth spot in 1984 on a very standard looking Piuma. I am also pretty certain Malcom Rathmell used a left to right side gear change on his Montesa 348/349 - never seen a kit for that conversion.

Re: Basket Cases

The kit included a gear lever[right side] a brake pedal [left side] and a gear selector shaft that went through the engine [after removing the existing one] the shaft came out through the primary case just in front of the kick start. There was a metal bung that had to be tapped or pushed out to allo...

Re: Basket Cases

I just measured my Bultaco's wheelbases and they both came out at around 1335 with the axles a little further forward than the Piuma above - 199A and 199B. I had a Piuma back in 1984, I am pretty sure that's the year they came out here in Australia, but unfortunately that also coincided with the rel...

Re: Bing carb for 1976 mod 183 Sherpa T.

The problem here that has been discussed before many times is that its expensive to recon the old Amals and Bings and they wear out slides, needles and needle jets reasonably quickly. Fitting a Keihin [or the OKO copy] will give a performance increase and more than likely cost less and not be prone ...

Re: Bing carb for 1976 mod 183 Sherpa T.

I don't recall anyone, me included, that changed jets on the Bing back in the day, so whatever is in the Bultaco manual would be correct I would guess.
