If you want to risk an unwanted engine stop, do as I did and buy one. It work ok for me until I use the lanyard than it was unreliable.

David, I'm not familiar with the 175, but do you think the casing be strong enough not to crack with the strain put on the kickstart so far away ?

Alastair, if you can change back the pegs to the original position, your in business. I never used that method to clean a TY exhaust, but I noticed a difference after the cleaning. If you have a chance put your exhaust on a scale before and after, you might be surprise.

I put one in a B model about 3 years ago, didn't have any problem. The bike is use moderately, mostly riding in the mountain.

I filed a '' notch '' in my brake pedal so I could level it. I ride a lot more than I do comp. and my footrest are lower and further back than yours so it was uncomfortable. I never ad any problem.
