Re: kt 250 differences

I also seem to remember that the front brake lever on the backing plate was different between the 75 and the 76 models. Not sure why that point has stayed in my mind for this long though!

Re: Basket Cases

I had forgotten about that bike David. It was very interesting though. I can remember there being a few 10 tooth front sprockets being around for a Bultaco many years ago in a 520 size but all the dealers said don`t use them. Just go up in teeth on the rear. I think that is why where are none of tho...

Re: Basket Cases

Greg have to ask. Wouldn`t the 9 tooth countershaft sprocket wear the chain out very fast? The smallest I can go on a real Trials bike :Bultaco: is an 11 tooth. I can remember reading that folk used to warn against using a 10 tooth on the front as it made everything wear really quickly.

Re: Basket Cases

I`m going to say Kawasaki. It looks to be very wide at the front of the tank. Probably a Deltec Grasshooper!

Re: Basket Cases

To answer your question David. Is it because Trials riders leave their entries until the last possible moment so they also don`t post anything unless they absolutely have too!

Re: Basket Cases

Very good move David. Even though I really like timing a Bultaco I also love not having to time my M199B as it has an In Motion ignition on it. The auto advance curve is also brilliant. You can have a really smooth bottom end with a screaming top end. I`m assuming that is your M49? :Bultaco: :Bultac...

Re: Basket Cases

Hi David. I use Barnett clutch plates in all of my 3 Sherpas. All with longer clutch arms on the case. I also only use 4.5 to 5 turns out on the clutch nuts with Venhil cables. The Barnett plates do grip a lot better than the standard plates. They are all a very easy one finger pull. My M199B is sti...

Re: Basket Cases

That is interesting David. I haven`t had much to do with the early Bultaco engines. I have worked on a few but not to that much detail as yet. Don`t forget they had a 125 roadracer which came out in 1966 with water cooling, 6 speed gearbox and a CDI ignition so they were not behind the times bu any ...

Re: TY250a 1974 Clutch Center hub and Flywheel

If you can`t find a good flywheel Peter I have just put a SWM Jumbo flywheel into a mechanical Engineers shop to have him remake the keyway in the Motoplat flywheel. Waiting to pick it up now. So I don`t know how much it will be as yet but it can be done. Graham.

Re: Twinshock universal mudguards

Hi Galps. Bultaco Australia has Goneli plastic mudguards in stock and I think VMX Unlimited had some TY mudguards made by DC Plastics.
