Re: returning to this sport

I would lean toward the Honda I have four of them ( beat that ). ( all in good humour ) Seriously though I do think Older 4 strokes are cheaper to run over a period of years, even without my bias toward Honda. I have a simple philosophy. Motorbike = buy Honda Car/Truck = buy Toyota. I have owned abo...

Re: Are enduro's turning into trials?

When I read the title of this topic I thought you meant the bikes. I think it does apply to the bikes not the courses, and it would follow that the bikes are therefore more capable of trials style terrain. What I am waiting for is a trials bike with a seat, a long range tank ( 200kms plus ), fast ( ...

Re: returning to this sport

If you are only going to spend $1000 you would be better off forgeting about anything in particular that you want on the bike, like twin discs ( I presume you mean front and rear ) and would be better off looking long and hard for one that is in good mechanical condition, I know of several people ri...

Re: Honda TL250 on fleaBay

Hi Rob there is a way of finding out who is selling it through e-bay, probably slightly incorrect usage of their facilities though. What you need to do is to put a bid on it ( you need to do this before the system will allow you this information ). then write down the sellers ID and the Item number....

Re: ty 250 b gearing

Yes Stu I thought so.

I have made a chain slider out of thick builders bucket, but I do think the chopping board stuff might be better as it will have less friction. On the drawback side I think you might find that it will leave small strands of plastic on the chain.

Re: Sponsored Riders in Oz

How about the flip side of the argument.

Maybe its good that no one has a great sponsoship deal.
A. because it keeps everyone down to earth and friendly.

B. it keeps it good as a family sport

C. because at least it is a level playing field.

just my thoughts

Re: returning to this sport

I agree with Rob W, most of the newish bikes will do everything you want. Here is an example 1997-2000 2 strokes go for about $3-4k. 2000 - 2004 2 strokes can go for $4 - 6k. Anything 4 stroke is usualy $5 -6k upwards. BUT unless you are at the pinicle of competition all of these bikes will do every...

Re: ty 250 b gearing

Changing a front cog by 1 tooth is worth about 4 teeth on the back. Are you sure you mean neoprene? I thought that was the stuff wetsuits are made from. My advise on the gearing issue is to only change 1 tooth on the front at a time unless it is an enourmous amount away from where yo want it. Also c...
