Re: The passing of a Trials Legend, Mark Beechey.

Mark was a passionate Trials rider with a fantastic ability to set up a bike. He found great pleasure in helping those trials riders who were willing to put in the effort. We had some great times camping, training and tinkering with TY's and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have learnt a little bit of the B...

Re: TY 250 Improvements

Hi I have not really thought of the brake pedel so thanks for bringing this up. My original rear brake pedal has been a pain in the butt and I have hooked it up on a rock several times and bent it like a bananna. So I did have the intention of modifying my brake lever similar to a majesty. That is a...

Re: TY 250 Improvements

Hi Ross I noticed your post and was impressed by the way you utilized the old mount. I don't like cutting off the old bits until I am absolutely sure of the new mods. I am aiming to get the peg width as close as possible to a modern so thinking of welding a brace to the frame to get the pegs closer ...

Re: TY 250 Improvements

Hi David Lahey Nice to meet you at Pacific Park Last weekend. So I have a question for you or others to comment on!! If I want to relocate my TY 250 foot pegs what is the general consensus as to what is the best position. I found one post on Trials central suggesting 1 3/8 inch down and the same bac...

Re: TY250 twinshock clutch mod

Hi David
Interesting I have installed an extension on the lever under the bike and also installed a mechanical lightening device on the cable. The clutch is light enough but I dont like the feel. How hard did you push the clutch with the springs removed. Did you do a steep hill climb??

TY250 E 1978

Here is a picture of my rare TY250E complete with dust and all. It is pretty standard except for a Sherco front mudguard and falcon shocks. Found the sherco guard does not clog up like the original. I dont ride my A any more as this bike is far better. Probably due mainly to the A being worn out. St...

Re: TY 250 Improvements

Hi again I have been riding the TY250E in this years comp and the bike feels great. Handling is also much better however I cannot spot any difference in the frame. Is there any difference? The motor is far superior than the A. And I thought my A motor would be stuffed. I have pulled the barrel off t...

Re: TY 250 Improvements

David The tyre is tubless but I have been using them on the TY A for a while with no problems. It stayed on the A rim on the weekend. I had an old Dunlop Tubeless that I put on my TY250 A for practice and it really popped on compared to the Michelin that just eased on under pressure. What is the dif...

Re: TY 250 Improvements

Thanks for your comments on sprockets David & Anthony I have still got the original 428 sprockets on which will be OK for a while, I have found out that if you want steel sprockets the rear one is the same as a SR250 or XL250 (3YI Supersprox available in 43,45,46,49,53) I am going to The UK for ...

Re: TY 250 Improvements

Hi Again David thanks for the picture of the sidestand. I have a few more of the basics to sort out on the E but had my first ride on it on the weekend. Yeh they have a nicer motor. I will post a few a picture of it soon but for now I had an issue with the chain starting to derail. So my questio. Is...
