Re: quick one on 2T oil

Hi Mick, I have used Motul 800 in the past and found it caused lots of build up of sludge in both the motor and exhaust. Im sure it was designed for higher reving motors where higher temperatures make it burn cleaner. I would look at full synthetic oils like Motorex or Gro with such a late model tha...

Re: Basket Cases

[quote="Joe Henderson"]David,

Not only vintage/classic hubs, but vintage and classic newspapers on which to display them.

That's really going the extra mile.

No extra effort put in with newspapers Joe, takes that long for them to be delivered up where David lives... :lol:

Re: Christmas quiz No 1

Have little experience with the Bullys but have seen a couple locally that have snap crackled and broke, where as back in that era many of us using Ty's tested them to the limits and nothing ever seemed to stop them. I will say the Ty is the heavier !

Re: Cut out lanyards for trials bikes

Good you have bought this to our attention Roger, A lanyard is without a doubt a very effective engine immobiliser. I would support the introduction of a lanyard being a requirement for A graded and Expert riders in MA sanctioned events. The sections at this level now require such massive thrust and...

Re: Showcase Time - Classic era bikes

Hi Roger, The Ossa probably is Pre 65 but looks a bit cobbly, I have a pair of forks like the ones on it and I wonder what they are. The ones I have are on a Francis Barnett for the moment but don't look right. Road holders would be better I think.(If only I could afford them) Isn't the 37A motor t...

Re: Lever Pivots Mechanical advantage ??

Your on the right track Gary, you are looking for smoother progressive feel which comes with the wider travel of arc, same principal we employed way back of lengthening the actuating arm on the Ty's to give a softer and smoother transition of clutch engagement.

Very good news Claudio, congratulations to all. I'm sure she will be back at some stage. Maybe you will have to get a little TY and tuck it away in the shed for a new pupil soon,.... :lol:

Re: The Ossa TR280i, how good is it?

Hi Shaun, The advice you have been given concerning new models is normally a valid concern. If you are tossing up between a Sherco and an Ossa you would best be advised to spend some time on each to get a feel of each of the machines very different characteristics. Best thing about the choice of bot...
