Re: Suzuki RL250 Exacta Mania

I have had some success today. I’ve made a product from my original rear guard and it’s spot on. The “Made in Japan” is even there, but backwards.

A new method for a replica tank is on the horizon.

Re: Suzuki RL250 Exacta Mania

I have spent the last few days trying to make a mould and I have had no success at getting the quality I want. I am contemplating finding a way I can fabricate a plastic copy. Copying the tank is not going too bad. On the rear guard, the flanges and chain cut out are getting to me. Grrrr. Plus, my n...

Re: Suzuki RL250

I am currently waiting for my order to arrive. I stayed up early (12:30am) to chat with Pee Wee from B & J's. He's a nice bloke and good for a chat. I have VoiP so it cost me $0.02 per minute. It was hard to keep my order small for my RL. It's worth the call because Pee Wee said they they do get...

Re: More RL250s on the local scene

Ha ha ha. You're probably right about the "no good". Why else would Suzuki sell 3000 RL250's to Beamish and then he chucks the frame for his own "whitehawk" frame. For a bike that can be registered I think it's pretty good. Had some bad sources of info for what I was rambling on ...

Re: More RL250s on the local scene

The Other side. The chassis and engine number is RL250-15286. I didn't buy it new. It was my grandfathers for 20 odd years and I have had it for 13 years. I can't say if it's original or not by documentation. I have a repair manual and two microfiche but have not yet found anything about detailing t...

Re: More RL250s on the local scene

My 74 Suzuki has all RL parts. There are no TS foreigners. It has an alloy tank and a 520 pitch chain. Battery box, light, stator with a neutral switch. This bike is probably a special. However, I have photo's of a 74 with all the road gear as original. I used to own a Yamaha DT175A that was black. ...

Re: Help with TY250 Registration

The RTA Technical Service phone guy tells me I cannot get this bike registered unless I can show evidence of previous registration. I am about to get my RL250 blue slipped in NSW. I have been talking to the RTA techos and some shops that do blue slips. I found a key thing is that you need to find a...

Suzuki RL250 Mania

Hey Hey. I am in the process of prepping my '74 RL250 for comp and for road registration. This means that I am making replica parts for use in comp so that I don't destroy my originals, such as the guards and Aluminium tank. I am in the process of making moulds for my front and back guards. I expect...

Re: More RL250s on the local scene

Hey Hey. The RL250's are my favourite. Mine has been gathering dust for the last 4 years because I stripped the rear sprocket and needed a new front brake cable. Now that I have some time on my hands since selling my superjet I am back on the bikes/ I am getting my '74 RL ready for competition at Mo...
