Ty frame mod

I finaly found a TY T/S frame to ( hopefully ) modify to get better ground clearance and better suspension. The one I owned is a 434 and the one that I just bought is a 493, when I look at them side by side the the geometry seem identical to me. I would like your opinion on that, Witch one should go...

Ty 350

Well, I just picked up my new toy yesterday, a TY 1986 350 It's not a show and I think it will spend some time in the basement so I will need some parts, probably a piston kit, seals, bearings, cables etc. So any info on where I can get those parts and any advise on replacements is very very welcome...

Re: TY250 E Piston

Hey Stanm be carefull in choosing MX, YZ or other high reving motor pistons, they don't have the same shape ( high reving motor tend to heat up ) they will be loose and you won't like the sound of your motor , plus I prefer a 2 rings piston.

Re: TY250 E Piston

Here are the pictures of the pistons,
DT on the left and the Ty on the right. Note that the corner of the skirt on the ty piston is slightly cut to clear the crankshaft.

Re: TY250 E Piston

The DT is heavier than the TY and the '' corner '' of the sleeve are slightly shaved on the TY. I will post pictures tonigh...

It was a lot of fun to ride. Mine was serial # 116000295 imagine I still remember that number by heart !!! Would you beleve I ...
