Re: Basket Cases

Those fork scrapers do look correct on the early models. The ones you had on there just don`t quite look the part. Nice looking Myford as well. It does look like it really needs an air hose waved over it a few times I have been using KTM SX 65, 2002 to 2009 fork seals in all of mine for years now. T...

Re: TY250 R (Pinky) Fuel problems

As it happened after a couple o hill climbs I`d check the float height. The OKOs are fussy on the float height I have found. Make it level with the float bowl mounting surface with the carby upside down.

Re: Basket Cases

I can remember seeing new Firestone tyres in at the bike shops in the mid 70`s. I`m sure Don Newell had some in the Valley.

Re: Lathe way oil

Hi Jim. I just use a cheap home brand car engine oil for lubricating my Myford lathe. For actual lubricating/cooling oil on the stuff I`m machining I use a Hare and Forbes solulable oil and mix it with water.

Re: kt 250 differences

I also seem to remember that the front brake lever on the backing plate was different between the 75 and the 76 models. Not sure why that point has stayed in my mind for this long though!

Re: Basket Cases

I had forgotten about that bike David. It was very interesting though. I can remember there being a few 10 tooth front sprockets being around for a Bultaco many years ago in a 520 size but all the dealers said don`t use them. Just go up in teeth on the rear. I think that is why where are none of tho...

Re: Basket Cases

Greg have to ask. Wouldn`t the 9 tooth countershaft sprocket wear the chain out very fast? The smallest I can go on a real Trials bike :Bultaco: is an 11 tooth. I can remember reading that folk used to warn against using a 10 tooth on the front as it made everything wear really quickly.

Re: Basket Cases

I`m going to say Kawasaki. It looks to be very wide at the front of the tank. Probably a Deltec Grasshooper!

Re: Basket Cases

To answer your question David. Is it because Trials riders leave their entries until the last possible moment so they also don`t post anything unless they absolutely have too!

Re: Basket Cases

Very good move David. Even though I really like timing a Bultaco I also love not having to time my M199B as it has an In Motion ignition on it. The auto advance curve is also brilliant. You can have a really smooth bottom end with a screaming top end. I`m assuming that is your M49? :Bultaco: :Bultac...
