Re: Basket Cases

He does remember that time when he hopped on the wrong bike Chippy! He had actually paid a deposit to Frasers for the :italjet: that you ended up with. He went in there to pick it up and they had to say sorry but we will have a couple more in next week. It was only after it all happened that he foun...

Re: Basket Cases

Greg. if I remember I can take a photo of an Italjet engine with the gear shaft on the correct side. Bernie also liked them on the correct side too. Sherpa, that is a great photo. All of the Bultacos from the M158,159 had a choice of which side you wanted stuff. Correct side or the wrong side!

Re: Basket Cases

It was 1982 the green ones were available in Brisbane from Frasers Motorcycles in Newstead. I remember because a good friend bought one when they came out. Chippy also bought one at the same time. I was always drooling over the brand new M199A that Frasers had in the showroom! I can`t remember if it...

Re: Basket Cases

I got that length from parking a green :italjet: next to my :Bultaco: and eyeballing how much shorter the :italjet: was compared to my :Bultaco: . The M158s and the M182s were the shortest Sherpa T I think. Their frame was different and the fork tubes were also shorter. It might not of been three in...

Re: Basket Cases

Rod, Yes they are called Domino levers now but they are the same as the Tomaselli used to be. I know the old levers fit into the new perches and visa-versa. David, the white :italjet: Piumas had aluminium axles, the rear engine mounts are tubes instead of heavy steel plates and a few other changes t...

Re: Basket Cases

Well done Greg. You would be correct in thinking that Tomaselli levers have a very good leverage ratio. The only one better is an Amal lever. I nearly have that M 49 I have been working on back together now. Just need to paint the tank and airbox cover. I`ll get some photos up very soon. The only th...

Re: Show us a picture of your Twinshock or Classic Trials bike

Here is one of mine. A Bultaco M199B. There is a long story behind this bike as it was the only M199B in Australia for a lot of years. This bike was privately imported from England in late 1981 or very early 1982 and it was first ridden in Northern QLD and then in trials around Brisbane. The engine ...

Re: Basket Cases

Well you could cut the yuk tank open and then panel beat all the dents and finish it all to a file finish and then paint it all. Only after you have welded it all back up of course. Fresh paint and welding don`t go together very well for some strange reason. Not too sure why? Or you could make a mou...

Hi DistortedAxis. Welcome to Trials Australia. You will find lots of information in these forums and a lot of craziness in the Twinshock and Classic forums. Be warned though. Trials is very highly addictive. Have fun! Graham. :Bultaco:
