Re: Show us a picture of your Twinshock or Classic Trials bike

Here is one of mine. A Bultaco M199B. There is a long story behind this bike as it was the only M199B in Australia for a lot of years. This bike was privately imported from England in late 1981 or very early 1982 and it was first ridden in Northern QLD and then in trials around Brisbane. The engine ...

Re: Basket Cases

Well you could cut the yuk tank open and then panel beat all the dents and finish it all to a file finish and then paint it all. Only after you have welded it all back up of course. Fresh paint and welding don`t go together very well for some strange reason. Not too sure why? Or you could make a mou...

Hi DistortedAxis. Welcome to Trials Australia. You will find lots of information in these forums and a lot of craziness in the Twinshock and Classic forums. Be warned though. Trials is very highly addictive. Have fun! Graham. :Bultaco:

Re: Magazine Articles

They are both very good articles Chippy. One thing is the Merlin came first and then Cagiva rebadged them. Ignacio Bulto started Merlin with some other Bultaco engineers. The Bernie Schreiber, Len Weed Trials book is brilliant. Very informative. It looks like I`ll be working on a Jumbo very soon. Th...

Re: Basket Cases

Hi Greg. I think the Delorto pilot jets go up in 5s so the next size richer would be a 60. The books all say they all have a 55 in them. There is a Delorto supplier in England who are pretty good to use. Their name escapes me at the moment but I have saved a receipt so I`ll have a look tomorrow. It ...

Re: Basket Cases

Would the dodgy bit be the extra small fuel tank in the corner of the stainless petrol tank holding tank? Top left. Very sneaky Greg. Having a mini :italjet: Piuma and not telling us. =D>

Re: Great Youtube Vids for Newbies

Hi Peter. While I`m a QLDer I know the blokes you were riding with. I grew up with Noel. I carry a bumbag with a few tools if there is a long loop. If the loop is only short then I don`t worry about my bumbag. Always have your brake and clutch lever mounts a bit loose so if the bike falls over the l...

Re: Michelin X-11 rear tyre reversal.

Not so much the Speedway people these days Rod but most of the Dirt Track/Short Circuit people use Trials tyres now. The Michelins seem to be the best ones for that too! The Vee Rubber ones seem to be quite popular as well. I always turn mine around too with no ill effects. Graham.

Re: Magazine Articles

That was a good read on both of those articles Chippy. You would have to be fit to ride a Scott in the SSDT. I have now put an In Motion flicky brake pedal end on the red :italjet: so that should work better now. It had one on it but it was very small and hard to find with your foot. I will be glad ...

Re: Basket Cases

So after some new crank seals and a new condenser the red Italjet now starts and runs very well. I did also have to clean the carby out again. When I first pulled it apart the carb had all this black stuff in the float bowl and it was hard. After all of that it goes again. Engine is very nice. Graha...
