Re: More TLR

The Delkovic system is very poor in terms of performance due to a series of 10mm holes internally (supposedly to reduce noise), that restrict the flow potential of the system by around 20% or more. It is possible to cut the system and alter this, but its a rather time consuming and fiddly job. Howev...

Re: Honda RTL 250 - Twinshock ???

The cams are exactly the same............I have compared them back to back! The ND9 number is an HRC part number, and as Jon V8 outlined earlier in regard to a cylinder barrel, some TLR parts were exactly the same but those with HRC numbers and awful lot more money! Main reasons the RTL runs so much...

Re: Dead 1975 TY175B

The most likely reason any one of the often poorly made aftermarket electronic ignition systems are likely to fail is due to the coils being hand wound, often by people working from garden sheds. Hand winding means it is difficult/impossible to make certain the windings are uniform, and this leads t...

Re: Dead 1975 TY175B

Beta ignitions were still failing in 2010..............Dougie had one go on him in the SSDT! Seems weird that this problem still doesnt appear to have been sorted?

Re: Dead 1975 TY175B

If you have a poorly made electronic ignition that has failed after a small amount of water gets in, you need to get the cracked cover repaired, properly seal the cover to crankcases, and remove it after very wet trials and blow out any water with an airline. You can block the vent pipe if you choos...

Re: ty 250 mono aftermarket parts

Chris will probably win the Normandale series this year, but as there is no one on a Fantic taking part who is anywhere near as good a rider as him, thats not altogether surprising! Have you tried Chris's bike I wonder, and if so what did you think?

Re: ty 250 mono aftermarket parts

The bike Chris Koch rides is fitted with a motor which is just about as far as you can go with the TY Mono, and in comparison to a good piston port Fantic its not that great, and not comparable in any way to a good reed valve Fantic. The bike Phil Wiffen used to win the 2010 is fitted with a reed va...

Re: More TLR

You can get exhaust guards from several sellers in the UK, but they are very easy to make, especially if your pipe still has the M6 mounting point for the front of the guard. Falcon steel body shocks will perform better than most others currently available, and unless you are willing to spend an awf...

Re: ty 250 mono aftermarket parts

Dave Pye didnt seem to have many problems riding his 300 Fantic TS in the SSDT this year...............cant remember his exact finishing position, but I think he beat half the entry all of whom were on modern bikes! A lot of people fit TS bikes with poorly designed shocks, which simply dont work ver...

Re: ty 250 mono aftermarket parts

The TY Yam is probably a good choice for easy club trials with air-cooled mono class, but its a dead duck for more serious competition! M8 of mine has won the air-cooled mono class in the UK classic championship a couple of times, riding a highly modified Yam Mono.............but when he changed to ...
