Re: The Venerable TY

Thanks Guys, I have had a soft spot for the TY for many years. I am a relative newcomer to the sport of trials having spent most of my early years on MX or Enduro bikes. Growing up on 300 acres of real mountain goat country you would've thought I might have twigged to the advantages of the trials bi...

Re: Reviving Brake Pads?

OK, this is what I did and it worked well. Firstly I removed the pads and using a flat surface (pane of glass) I scuffed them up a little with course wet and dry laid flat on the glass. Not much, it seemed easy to sand the pad material. I then cleaned the disc (I conferred with Scorpa OZ as to the n...

Re: Reviving Brake Pads?

Thanks everyone, I think (I haven't done anything yet - waiting for the weekend) I will go with GordonMichaelLee as it seems the simplest and cheapest. Unfortunately I haven't a Dremel, but it's fathers day Sunday right? I will also keep a can of BrakeCleen handy for those times when my WD40 spray t...

Re: made myself a bike rack yesterday. pics

Looks great. Is it to go on the back of the front-end loader? Will need to be good and strong if so, but it does look to be well-made.

Have a good one,

Re: Reviving Brake Pads?

Whilst the thought of baking the pads in oven brings out my mischievous side and would certainly require some sweet talk, I'll try the first method. See how it goes, while pre-heating the oven to baking temperature!

Thanks guys.

Reviving Brake Pads?

Hi all, I have a 2008 SYR Scorpa. For some reason the rear brakes is not what it used to be. The pads look OK (not worn too far) and the hydraulic actuation is OK. I can only surmise that the pads are glazed. Is it simply a matter of taking them out and giving them a treatment with wet and dry paper...

Re: Trials Tales #7

HI Maree, Yes, it seems that being a trials mum is no piece of cake. I usually buy fish and chips on the way home from a trial to keep the peace. But I too must admit to have come home with a load of dirty gear, tetchy kids and a desire to quietly retire to a warm bed. Hope round 4 goes well and we ...

Re: Upload your Trials playground!!!

That looks great Aquira; looks like it could be a little slippery and muddy at times. This is a slippery rock section on my property in the Adelaide Hills. It is usually quite an effort just to get to the other end without footing. It is about forty metres to the top and any bit that's in the flowin...
