Oz Rock 4x4's

Postby bryan » Sat May 12, 2007 3:04 pm

Folks, I just stumbled upon this website for a 4x4 rock crawling event in Victoria in June, that might be of interest to our mob.
I see this as a fairly closely aligned sport to our own, sharing venues and courses, despite a different governing body (and more wheels).
Maybe one of our Geelong or Melbourne representatives could go along and makes friends with these guys.

Hi Bryan

I'm heavily involved with OzRock. I competed all of last year and I will be spotting for my girlfriend at the June 2-3 round. I tried to drum up support for a round in the past but the response was not overwhelming. Yes I agree both sports share similar interests and may help to support eachother more.

Come find us at the round in Little River. Here's Michelle learning to drive.

well the round was a great success. the terrain at the SSAA range is fantastic and it is so close to the city with 2wd access all the way. top amenities as well so definitely a venue that might be good for a BIG trials event.

here's michelle driving like a seasoned expert. 8)

how long's a piece of string?!

really depends if you want to be super competitive or just have a fun basher. to win these days, you'll need at least $50k, more would be better. the way things are going, you'll need to spend +$100k soon. but to build something reliable and semi competitive, you could do it for between $10-30k.

much better idea to buy one complete because until you sit down to budget a build, you'll never know how much of a money pit it is!
