Re: Pimp my ride
Hi Everyone,
I managed to pull off a good one here on Saturday (Valentines Day) with the wife.
I have promised her to do up a spare TY 175 I have. It is a good bike but looks crap. She wanted a pink bike to call her own and then learn to ride. She has bought most of her riding kit already but has been too sick to spend much time learning.
I got the tinware painted last week thinking I would just hang onto it until she learnt to ride well enough to put it on and stand a good chance of not damaging it in 5 minutes. I picked up the tinware from the Paint Doctor here in Maryborough and put the bike back together Friday afternoon before she got home from work. The paint job is just beautiful. I could not wait to let her see it. The pink has a pearl fleck through it and sparkles and changes colour a little in diffrent light. I put a huge Valentines card on the handlebars and put a cover over the bike.
Saturday morning she gave me her Valentines present and I told her I didn't get her anything. I went down to the shed before breakfast and came back up demanding she come and help me hold a swingarm bolt that needed a second set of hands for.
When she went in the shed she couldn't believe it. The bike was in the centre of the shed up on a workstand. She actually had tears in her eyes she fought hard not to cry. She said she had been "overhauled" (too much Austar)
I got some real browny points up for this one. I still have a lot of detail work to do on it but it does look nice and she loves it. She spent the day out at Brooweena at a practice day telling everyone about it. We did not take it with us as she is still not well enough to ride or strong enough to pull the clutch in. But she is getting more confidence.
David Lahey is posting the pictures soon for me.

Re: Pimp my ride
Howdy Y'all,
I was telling my girlfriend about this yesterday (after going out riding with Starky), and it now seems I need to find another KT (4th one), and make her a girly KT. So good one Starky for getting Helen's bike up, I look forward to the day she feels good enough to come for a ride too, but.... it means I now have another "Overhaul" to do on top of the 2 I'm doing now...
Cheers,
Your friendly neighbourhood ScorpaMan,

Howdy Y'all,
Unfortunately Scorps Painting Co. was upstaged by Starky's overhaul at our Brooweena ride yesterday. Never the less, we present to all the Suzuki RL250 of Scorps Sr.
You may have seen this bike on the classifieds recently:
Now we have:
Next up will be some KT's - time frame TBA
