Victorian Fires

Postby Rob W » Tue Feb 10, 2009 8:27 pm

I'm hoping to hear some news of all the wonderful families and individuals we met around the Bendigo/Ballarat areas during the Aussie Titles Tials Week last year. I hope everyone is OK. Can we help?

I've also spoken with David and Jennifer Ryan down in Gippsland, who are all OK. Fires passed about 10km from them.

That's great Phil. We get some pretty dramatic footage in the media, but precious little detail. Glad to hear good news.

See you

Hope you and yours are all safe and well in this disaster.

The Delburn fire came within 2km's of Mirboo North before it was controlled. Two fire fronts collided over a mates place at Boolarra and just leveled it, managed to get his bike, boat and 4WD away, but lost everything else. Aluminum blocks melted, twisted steel everywhere.

Lets hope they catch the arsonists soon. Vigilantes or police, either way.

Thank you Drakey for that graphic demonstration of the impending disaster. I don't think I could even come close to imagining what yourself & others affected by the disaster went through but looking at that montage of photos, especially those last few shots showing the flames gives an idea of the emotions you went through.
