Anyone able to assist me or point me in the right direction for parts/service info to assist me in a restoration of a late 1970’s Panda 175.

Many thanks...Russell

I was intrigued with the Panda JC1 so I went looking and found a wonderful and well written history of the bike by "Trials Guru"
https://trialsguru.net/2016/06/19/panda ... -beckmann/
I especially loved the reason for them calling it a 220

Thanks Dave, that's a great read.

Here's another article, with some overlap to that one but some more pics as well:

The bike that the Panda turned into - the Valenti - looks very nice too

That Valenti with the Tau engine looks fabulous. Dare I say it looks as sexy as the Italjet and the SWM? They really know how to make good styling.
Is that really Valentino Rossi in the riding photo? I didn't know he was into classic trials.
I suspect that Alessio Bartolini may the same person as Pippa Bartolini who is part of so many of the classic trials bike ride impressions written by Justyn Norek and Justyn Norek Jnr

The most amazing thing happened last weekend while a friend was visiting and we were working on old motorbike stuff together.
I've known this bloke for about 20 years.
We were talking about how he had changed his mind and decided not to sell the 1K6 TY125 that he and his wife had bought new in Germany and brought out to Australia when they came over to live in Australia in the 1980s. I was so relieved because I would be shattered to sell a bike I had owned for so long and had so much fun with.
Anyway, while on the subject of the various trials bikes he had owned, he told me he also brought a Panda 175 out from Germany when they moved here and he rode it in trials here in Central Queensland. I couldn't believe the coincidence with Russellk from Mackay starting this forum string looking for info about his Panda 175 just a couple of weeks ago.
From what my friend told me about who bought his Panda, it is very likely that the Panda at Mackay is probably the same Panda my friend brought out from Germany.
My friend also told me that his Panda had received some special attention from the German bloke who did the development work on the Panda when the factory started fitting Sachs cylinders on the Morini bottom ends and that his Panda was a pretty good thing to ride back in the day.
What a small world!
