Re: Show us a picture of your Twinshock
So, due to lots of research, it's most likely a late model 348 frame with god knows what engine in it at this stage, 1981 349 white wonder seat/tank unit painted red, can see the white coming through left side behind seat, and possibly front end from white wonder also(might explain front hub), '84/'85 330 rear guard. Julz, where should David and I send our invoices to?

Re: Show us a picture of your Twinshock
Thanks for all the feedback guys. Consensus seems to be a late model 348 with later 349 seat and tank and maybe some other tweaks. My friend bought it as is but i suspect a previous owner tweaked it over the years. It goes well and consistently places well in our clubman "A" grade.
David, I have been riding my Fantic 301 for the last couple of rounds in our series as my SWM is out of action. One of those jobs that started with a kickstart shaft and progressed to a rebore and new piston. Currently waiting on top and bottom gaskets...
The Fantic continues to start and run well and I found that it travelled up and down the grassy sheep rutted hillsides very well. It is a great bike with plenty of power, good suspension and reasonably good turning. (I do prefer the SWM though...).

Re: Show us a picture of your Twinshock
Julz, only joking obviously. I would love to get my hands on a SWM 350 Jumbo in running condition, do you know of any that might be for sale in NZ? They were very scarce here in Oz. Maybe reply via PM. Thanks.

Re: Show us a picture of your Twinshock
I don't think there were ever any Jumbo's in NZ. I am only aware of 4 TL320's that came here. Mine is a recent import and the local guys who have been riding for decades tell me that there were only 2 brought into the country back in the day.

A couple of my twin shocks I brought in from the States. 199B Sherpa and '83 SWM Jumbo. Both great bikes to ride. The power of the Jumbo is outstanding
Both bikes are unfortunately for sale.

Re: Show us a picture of your Twinshock
Nothing super-special here, but my 'cookin' TY175, now 'semi-fettled' and running quite nicely.
There's plenty more to do, I'll drop the motor and refinish the engine cases and the frame sometime later, meanwhile I'm enjoying riding the little thing. The $32 Chinese Mikuni got me out of trouble (thx for the tip David), but I'll keep searching for an original carb.
(Thanks Julian, from Julian)

Re: Show us a picture of your Twinshock
I finally got my TY250B to the point of being able to ride it in a trial. I took it up to Mungaree for the trial last weekend, and it ran quite well considering that it is fitted with a DT125 carbie. I need to get a better set of rear shocks for it, the current one having been borrowed from my TL250, are too long and cause the rear brake pedal to foul on the sidestand bracket. Overall a successful first outing.

Re: Show us a picture of your Twinshock
New project bike pulled out of my old man's shed after 30 years.
Going to do a full restoration on her.
