You going to start doing the old TY up that you said you had in your garage?

There was a feature in VMX magazine a couple of issues ago about someone in Australia making plastic replicas of TY guards but I haven't heard any more about those ones since.
Very good quality plastic replicas of the rears for TY175 and TY250 have been available for a few years now. The 175 is even available in yellow as well as white. No replica fronts in plastic that I know of yet.
Lots of people including Australians have made fibreglass replicas and sold them.
Are you wanting plastic or fibreglass?
Lots of people use the generic plastic trials guards made by Gonelli on Yamahas. They are a fair bit cheaper than the replica plastic guards.

Mainly Maico had TY front mudguards listed but I have not been able to confirm supply as they are on leave until Tuesday. I want two fronts.

Yes Nic I am starting to get some bits and pieces together to show the old girl a bit of love.

Thanks David for the info, I'd been keen to find out more if there is somebody making them here in Aus, doesn't really bother me too much if they are plastic or fiberglass.

Can you tell me wher I can but some gonelli ones and what they look like on a TY ??

Cedric,

Do mainly maico have a website ?

thanks guys

Luke

I am not very good on this thing, but if you google Mainly Maico and then go to the Flat Rabbit site you will find the TY guards.

Here are photos showing gonelli guards. I don't have a TY photo with rear gonelli so here are photos of John Barwick's KT showing both front and rear gonellis. Next posting will be a TY or a Majesty with front gonelli.

Here's another option for the front. This Majesty has a modern trials bike front guard fitted to the Yamaha fork brace (and looks pretty good). The owner (Beech) might reply with what modern bike the guard is from.
