Hi Greg, I noticed on the post that you are a sheet metal worker and TY owner and was wondering if you can help me out. I have a TY250A with the original fibreglass bashplate. The plate is on the way out and I have been trying for a while to locate a later model alloy one with no luck. Would you be interested in making one ? Not necessarily an exact copy , just something that does the job. If so please let me know a price Ph 0439 410 445 or email lindsay@qfin.com.au

Thanks

Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,

I have an A model with a fabricated aluminium bash plate, will take some photos and send to you after the Twinshock Masters next week.

Hi Lindsay,

Sorry about the delay, have been through my bike shed and found an A model bash plate with good fibreglass but two wear holes in steel. In the photo beside the fibreglass one is a C model bash plate of mine, also the fabricated aluminium one on the bike. I have shown how elaborate the genuine one is, I could reproduce but would be cost prohibitive. As you suggested a flat one more akin to a modern bike may be the answer. Please have a look at the one on the bike and we will talk again.

Hi everyone.....

Just thought I would post this basket case I got about 3 weeks ago whilst in Rockhampton. It is incomplete and still waiting for the young bloke I bought it off to find more bits!!!!
I have already been in contact and bought parts off David Lahey, but I am still chasing a seat (even just a base), rear brake rod connecting the brake lever to the brake arm and the rear brake brace. I sure there are still aprts missing as I get it together. Please contact me if you have anything.

Hi Andrew (Chippy)

MMMM!! A KT 250, it is the only Japanese 250 of that era I've had nothing to do with yet! I have riden one though in slightly better, no, lot better condition! What impressed me was the progressive smooth power and I thought I will own one sometime, hopefully soon! Then I'll have the set! Good luck with the parts you need, hopefully someone is reading this thread with the missing parts, look forward to having a ride on it! Maybe Conondale next year as I don't remember any competing this year!
