Hello everyone
I was wondering if anyone would have the paint codes for a silver and blue frame sherpa.

Re: Bultaco paint codes
Hi - off the cuff
Have never had to paint a blue frame - but Cryslar Blue (an engine colour)is used by others.
The silver i have is Fine Silver MB518 - (but this could be the base colour)
I will confirm if i can find the info in one of the club mags - it's a crap day here, give me something to do.
Bultaco.com site has info also - but codes didn't mean anything to all the spray painters i approached.

Re: Bultaco paint codes
The Blue is a Ford colour 'Blaze Blue', any automotive paint shop can mix it, some will even mix it in pressure pack cans as well, it is also available ready mixed in 'touch up' spray cans.

Re: Bultaco paint codes
Your pretty spot on with those Bultaco pant codes, Little bit difficult as not all shops can remix pressure packs just using the standard code numbers, but the early 70's auto names and codes helps a hell of a lot
Following codes used recently on a couple of resprays used by myself
PPG paint codes for Bultaco
Grigo Chiaro OCC 35982 - 74 Pursang fender Grey (Bugger cannot find that can, will have to get back to you)
Torch Red DAR 74013 - Bultaco Red (Code R 1960-1962 Group3 Ford Motor Company Name Torch Red) slightly darker than Montesa Red, but probably good enough
Crystal Silver Metallic DAR 34926 - Bultaco Silver (PowerPlus PK9100 Silver Grey Mtallic)
Grabber Blue DBU 2230 - Bultaco Blue (Code J Group2 Year 1970-1972 Ford America Name Grabber Blue) Blaze Blue will do as well but a little darker
Black DBU 9700 - Bultaco Black (Use Septone Gloss Engine Black) (Can get this in Matt/Flat black too)
Carnation Yellow DBU 4266 - Bultaco Yellow (Holts Toyota Buttercup DST19 This came out a little flat, nedded a top spray of clear to lift it a bit. You could try Holts Tiger Yellow, but too egg yellow yoke y ellow, but a much more solid colour, you would need to check it out and see if it did look any good on the finished item)
The info shown in brackets after each paint colour is the details off the cans matched for me by Auto West Paints at Penrith NSW
The Torch Red and Grabber Blue are early Ford & Mustang colours (USA) and Chrysler used similar colours as well at that time.
Hope this helps

Re: Bultaco paint codes
Sorry, That last one should have been Competition Yellow, Not Carnation Yellow( Not wearing my specs)
Hope I transferred all the codes correctly as my copy is pretty worn. Let me know if I have stuffed up or not
