TY 250 A

Postby danmatt » Wed Sep 21, 2011 3:59 pm

Hi guys, just a quick question regarding the width of a TY250 swing arm, I seem to have 2??? One is 8 inches on the outside where the chain tensioners go and the other is 8 3/4 inches. which one is correct as I am putting the old girl back to gether and have found the not so bent axle is the shorter one and the long one has been welded and bent.
Thanks

They might both be right. Swingarm arms are easily bent in or out. I measured some TY250s just now and they were about 215mm outside the axle plates but it is hard to get it exactly with a wheel in the way. If you want an exact mesaurement just measure the wheel hub, backing plate and axle spacers as an assembly.
Sometimes both arms are bent in the same direction so even if the distance between the axle plates is right, the wheel will be offset.
