Here are some photos from the Aussie TY250A sales brochure showing which decals are on the plastic sidecover and the exhaust heat shield

Hi David, thanks for posting this.
I have been reproducing a number of trials bike stickers for quite a few years now and have often wondered about the different fonts used in the TY red/black "250" in different countries.
All of my artwork is taken from NOS stickers or from actual bikes so that I know for sure it is a perfect copy, but the one used in your brochure clearly has another font compared to the one I have.
The top copy is the one I copied from a TY here in Australia in the early 90's
The lower copy is the more common version sold in Europe, the UK and USA.
So the question is which one is correct version for Australian delivered Ty's?

cheers

Those photos I posted are from the Aussie brochure and the heat shield decal on the bike in the brochure looks like every original-stickered Aussie TY250A I have ever seen
Maybe the orange-lettered decal you copied was from an overseas model TY250 that had been imported second hand

Thanks David, it does look like what I thought was an original sticker was either an imported model/sticker or only one that looked similar to the original.
Does anyone out there have an original sidecover/sticker that could send me a good quality photo?

cheers
Gary Mc

Gary here is a photo I just took in the shed with my phone. It is of a TY250A exhaust heat shield that has never been repainted from new. Is the photo good enough for what you want? My wife has a fancy camera if needed.

Thanks David, that picture is perfect, I can use the dimensions of the original clear background to confirm the correct size.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/YAMAHA-TY175 ... 53d6c98328
I see these are listed as TY175 European model but the photo shows the tank stickers that came on TY250A, TY250B and TY175B in Australia
