One of the guys over on the Vintage MX forum posted these links to some youtube videos. Worth a look for a laugh.

Re: Some early Trials videos.
Note that Mike Thorpe in the Byford Trial video is still competing in Trials and can still hold his own in his class against many. Wonderful smooth riding style - an inspiration - and contributes much to our club in WA and to Trials. Currently aboard a GasGas 125 having stepped down from the larger capacities and also rides his TLR so smoothly. Doing much to help the young and the newbies (who are sometimes not so young). Certainly not a laugh, but an inspiration.
We are only as good as we are (or think we are) by those who have gone before us. I am sure that Mick Andrews could still teach me (and others) many a thing or more.

I don't need help - I can fall off all by myself.

Re: Some early Trials videos.
Good to hear he is still riding.
The bravery award should go to the 14 year old riding the Royal Enfield.
Also good to see 6 or was it 7 Brit bikes mixed in with the Spanish invasion.
