Going bush

Postby Jmac » Tue Oct 25, 2016 4:57 pm

G'day everyone,
I'm heading to the bush this weekend and taking the trials bike with me for the 1st time....

Any ideas on the most suitable tyre pressure for the state forest?
(I'm expecting it to be very wet and muddy in some areas)

6 psi in the front and 4 psi in the rear tyre is normally a good base point. Going for a general ride you could run and extra 1 or 2 psi if you felt the need.

PA is on the money re pressures. Depending on how your carby is set up, If you intend to do a lot of quick 'trail type' riding you might want to think about richening the mixture a bit too.

Thanks for the replys!

I don't think we'll be flying down the trails but a bit quicker than what we usually do down at Oakleigh.

At least until we find a spot to play!

Cheers

Just listen for it 'pinking' when you open the throttle while flying along - if it does open the choke for a bit :)

Excuse the ignorance paulm.... what does pinking mean?

I assume, Open the choke to give it a bit of a richer mix?

"pinking" and "pinging" are both commonly-used terms for the same condition

relax, nothing is under control
