New 250 two strokes in Beta,Sherco and GasGas what brand has the best parts backup here in Aus? I suppose in general even taking into account internet availability of parts overseas.

Hi Toclosh
Moto Central in Canberra are the Sherco importers & carry most spare parts right back to the 1999 models
Here is the link to the spare parts diagrams for your interest:
http://www.shercotrials.com.au/sherco-spare-parts/
and you can order them through any of the dealers listed here:
http://www.shercotrials.com.au/sherco-d ... australia/
We also run www.trialsbike.com.au & here is the link to the sherco area:

Paul Arnott from 'the Hell Team' is really good. Parts always arrive by mail within one to two days of ordering. Paul is also very knowledgeable about the technical side of the bikes as well as being a genuinely nice person.

Beta Australia keep an extensive range of parts for all models and dispatch parts daily.
You should not have any problems with parts for any of the current manufactures bikes.

Re: Beta/Sherco/GasGas parts which one
I love my old 2002 290. BUT, I would hesitate to buy another one after the last 12 months with this thing. It's a pity that the parts support in Australia isn't like the Japanese road, trail or trial industry.
It's all very good to sell the new bike, but if you are not prepared to give a proper spare parts support. People will desert the brand.

Thanks for the info. Well my enduro bike is up for sale on various sites including this one. When it sells my plan is to get a Trials bike 2013 or newer. I will ceck out those sites mentioned and see whats around. It does appear that when a good bike comes up for sale they sell real quick.

Most of My club (sqta) ride beta I think mainly based on their quality and parts availability

Re: Beta/Sherco/GasGas parts which one
I usually go through splatshop in the uk for all my sherco parts. The bikes themselves I go through Motocentral for my last 2 factory editions. I have had no issues with any of my shercos and have been riding them for about 6/7 years
Re: Beta/Sherco/GasGas parts which one
No one seems to have mentioned this yet, but most of the components on the post 2013 bikes are shared.
Suspension - Formula tech forks (except beta and pre-15? Gas gas)
Brakes and Clutch - Braktek aka AJP
Wheels and hubs- Morad
Unless it's plastics or pistons, the dealer doesn't matter too much.
I have a 2015 sherco, but I try get stuff through Paul @ the hell team since he's my local dealer.
Also, trials bikes are a different animal to an enduro bike. You will most likely go through a piston in the clutch master cylinder before you go through one in the engine
