Trials Helmet Recommendations Please

Postby pete40 » Thu Feb 01, 2018 11:20 pm

Just got a new bike. My old helmet sucks. It was an Airoh, I forget the model, but the liner has deteriorated and the buckle/clasp has rusted. It flops forward all the time. Riding in Qld summer I sweat too much. The wife has a nice comfortable Airoh - carbon, thicker lining, not worn out yet - better than mine.

I am looking for liner comfort, cool, vented, light, probably carbon, good ergos, stays in place, removable liner if possible.

What's the recommendations from the people on this forum?

Where's everyone buying from?

I've used a couple of the JITSIE HT1 polycarbonate helmets now and like them for comfort and price. Never remove the liner, just rinse it out with body wash when showering . We'll have a couple of HT2 fibreglass helmets on our site shortly. Freight is reasonable.

Thanks for that Denis. 154 views - there must be plenty of other people interested in getting a new helmet too!

What helmets do the Australian Trials Des Nations team wear?

I think they wear their favourite lid or whatever they're sponsored to wear.

I have a brand new, never worn white Mitani Shoei Trials lid for sale if you want something rare, Large size $500.
Maybe not quite as light as some of the others, but meets the other criteria of being well ventilated and very comfy, it is a Shoei after all.

I use a Jitsie HT2 Carbon helmet in the matt black and been one of the best feeling helmets I have worn, its pretty light and put up with my abuse.
