Hi i am new to the world of trial riding and i wish to get started.
I am yet to purchase my first bike and i have no idea where to start.
I have a limited budget (around $3000).
Should i get a 2 or 4 stroke?
a gas gas or a beta.
I have no idea.
Also i am from victoria and i can't seem to find where that can help me.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Don't discount the other brands, scorpa, sherco.
My advice is to go to the three bridges trial and have a test ride of all the brands.. Also contact the GasGas and beta importers who are vic based and talk to them, their details can be found on this website.
hope this helps

Hi Jeremy,
Always good to see some new ppl join the sport!
As far as bikes go all manufacturers are pretty good and you'd do fine with any of them around 2000 models which you'd be looking at for that price. You will prob find it will come down to a matter of what you can get, when I picked up my Sherco about 6 months ago it was really hard to find a bike.
If it is Gas Gas or Beta you like, try take each one for a ride, as they're both good and more of a personal thing to which you prefer. I'd choose a Gas Gas, but that's just me!
As for 2 or 4 stroke, the 4 stroke's tend be to in the newer models, so you prob won't be able to pick one up for that price. But I would go for a 2 stroke anyway.
Like sdeane said head out to the first trial in your area, that's usually the best way to do it. There's also often bikes for sale at a trial that you don't see advertised online so could be a good spot to look for a bike too...
Hope I've proved to be useful!
Nic

Hi Jeremy
Three Bridges is a little hard to find.
The trials site is on the Yarra Junction - Powelltown rd
There should be a sign out, the site is off to the right heading to Powelltown
from Yarra Junction.

Hi Jeremy
You won’t find a road off to the right on the melways map
It’s only a farm track the track is in between some apple orchards.
Turn right at the lights at Yarra Junction there should be a sign out
It has been a while since I have been to the site I think it’s about 6 to 8 km
To the site on the Poweltown rd.
Thanks.
Phil.
