The Mick Andrews Book of Trials

Postby Rob W » Wed Jan 12, 2005 2:41 pm

Hello All

My first post after lurking a while.

I was wondering if anybody might be able to photocopy me a couple of pages from The Mick Andrews Book of Trials. Specifically I am interested in the page with a 1974-6 KTM Twinshock trials bike, and any other pages with a reference to this bike. Can't think of a worse trials bike (it was bound to have the typical old KTM features such as no brakes and a clutch that won't disengage) but I am a KTM nut.

Thanks

Rob

Rob

I'm konfuzzed :?: :?: :?:

I thought Montesa had the patent on no brakes and dicky clutches until at least 1985?????

The only KTM I have ever riden was a 79 250 enduro (in 1980), it had brakes and a clutch, it felt like you were riding a bronco til you looked at the speedo (way down on the fork leg).

My haven't things changed!

Hi BJShercs

When i rescued my "81 KTM 390 in 2002 it came with the original metallic brakes pads that were only 1/8 worn. They were so hard they would last a decades worth of six day enduros. But try and stop on an MX track - not likely. I kept over-shooting corners because there just wasn't enough brakes to pull it up. It was suggested I back of the throttle a little - but that can't be right can it???

Rob

ps. Any joy with the trials park project?
