Dakar 09

Postby Tee-Why » Mon Jan 05, 2009 1:41 am

Its on again, SBS coverage started today for the first stage. 6.00pm each night.
Argentina/Chile looks to be just as tough.
Two Aussie bike entrants found in the starters listing. So far David Schwartz is in 16th standing after Stage 2, and Simon Pavey 88th.

Note also the other bikes entered amongst the plethora of KTM and Yamaha bikes, the odd Beta and Sherco. Funnily the Chinese riders and on their Jincheng machines dont seemed to have made it past the first stage.

After day (stage) 8
Schwarz is 21st
Pavey is 56th
The other guy, Christophe, is still in the 80's

plus
Bruce Garland & Harry Suzuki are a brilliant 16th in the car section.

Aussie Aussie Aussie!

For those of you who are on Facebook, check out the page young South Aussie, Bradley Hintz has put up to honour the late, great Andy Caldecott. Well done Brad!

34 126 PAVEY (AUS) BMW 07:51:19 01:24:46

Withdrawn:
205 BARRIERE VARJU (AUS) KTM

Must have been tough, or a problem grouped the aussies together to help one or the other out? And Christophe dropped out, and to have come so far.
