Looking for a specs sheet on the 1989 Honda RTL 250S

E.g. Dimentions

Frame

Engine : Maximum power, Maximun torque

Carburetor

Drive train

Looking to make comparisions with the TLR 250

Thanks for your reply Ross,

I had seen that web site, but not that page. There are no specs particular to the 89 model.

Apparently there were small increases in HP each year from 85-89.

Realy after the specs sheet as would have been in workshop manual for the 89 model

Other than the obvious differences such as the mag side cases, and different kickstart mechanism the RTL motors are pretty much identical to the TLR 250. However later ones as fitted to disc brake bikes have different crankcases, and a slightly bigger clutch. The later motors can be easily recognised by the fact that the oil filler is on the front of the primary case rather than toward the rear on the earlier bikes.

Main reasons the RTL's seem to run so much better than the TLR has to do with the HRC exhaust system, and an ignition system that seems to provide a more trials specific advance curve. Generally TLR's are fitted with very restrictive exhausts and retain the stock air filter which also isnt ideal for competition use.
