Places to ride in South Brisbane

Postby Luke83 » Mon Aug 22, 2011 9:07 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some non-property areas to do some free riding.
Since I've only been in Brissy for a couple of years I don't yet know any good places to ride that aren't on a property.
Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers
Luke

Hi Luke,
The only place I know of is an area at Ormeau, the security guards are cool about trials riders and recently gave me an alternate entry point. The EPA and police are cracking down on the motorcross boys and crazy 4 x 4 s that are away from the gazetted roads. If you are keen let me know.

Hopefully the new bike park between Beaudesert and boonah will be open soon. They will apparently have a designated trials only area!

A trials only area would be good, I've been told it will be so packed when it opens not to even bother going til about three months after it opens.
Do you know if they are planning to use a booking system to use the park or a first come first served deal?

Cheers

As far as I know things are still fine but weekend afternoons are best as there are less 4 x 4's and motorcross boys, these are the guys that the cops and security are after stopping. Leave the car park down the hill and turn right up the creek but the EPA have just replanted this area so travel a couple of hundred meters down stream before you get out of the creek and the security guards are fine. Don't leave valubles in the car and pad lock your trailer to the car. If your going down and want some company drop me a line.
