The engine is standard 3ta, 350cc. I'm looking forward to some dry weather to get out on it

Re: My Classics
Nice bike. Funnily enough my first road bike was a red 1968 Tiger 90. I used to ride around Wiltshire on it when I was at Salisbury Tech in the early eighties. I sold the bike a long time ago but my brother still sees it regularly at Salisbury Classic MC club rides. The early eighties, I bought a disassembled 68 Bonneville for 90 pounds! I still have and it and unfortunately it's still disassembled

Re: My Classics
Hi, just discovered the tank sealer, I used in my Greeves Tank, several years ago, has let go, and turned into jelly like flakes.
how can I clean the tank of any existing sealer. ????
Did the old fuel I left in the tank for several years, cause the problem ????
I think the product was called Petseal, a motorbike fuel tank sealer.
Unleaded two stroke mix has only been in the tank. No ethanol.

Re: My Classics
At last the Greeves is back together, with its rebuilt 32A Villiers motor. Just a bit of tuning needed, as it is not starting first kick,as it allways use to.

Re: My Classics
What a great first year back.
Now a Full member of SQTA.
Few teething problem, ripped Valve stem, wrong size rim locks, and carby issues, ended the year with the Greeves Running great.
Due to Several members showing some concern of the type of Chinese FOOT wear fitted, and my lack of Traction in sections, I have got onto the local bike shop who supplied, overnight, no Freight, IRC front ( $90 ) IRC rear ( $135 ) TR-011 Tyres.
Jelly like lugs, compared to the chocolate blocked Chinese ones.
Hope to get them Fitted before Sunday Trial.
Next, maybe a new lightweight, airflow helmet.

Sorry, I'm going to have A WHINGE ABOUT TANK SEALANTS!
Please don't do it unless you really NEED to!
Seems some people nowadays are chucking this stuff in their tank routinely, not thinking about the consequences, or whether the tank really needs it.
The point is that now more people are having problems with old tank sealants than with leaky tanks!!!
If you have little holes in the tank, patch them with copper patches and silver solder, it's dead easy, and unlike chemical sealer/liners, it won't be a nightmare for the next lucky owner!

Re: My Classics
Well had a few running problems at the SQTA trial last weekend, seem to be leaning out badly on the uphill climbs.
Pulled things apart. emptied tank finding this.
So in the words of Jools,
Sorry, I'm going to have A WHINGE ABOUT TANK SEALANTS!
Please don't do it unless you really NEED to!
Will just have to wait until the rest lets go.

Re: My Classics
Yikes! Hope you were using an extra fuel filter!
Just yesterday I spent the afternoon putting a sealer kit through my rusty old RL250 tank...now I'm thinking perhaps I should have just had it restored!
How long ago was yours sealed? Wonder how long mine will last...
