There's some great bikes out there in this era & a wide range of models to choose from.
Post any pics of this era - your own bikes, or any that grab your attention;
current or back in the day.
Not strictly abiding by pre65 cut-off, but lets say no later than 60s 4-speed models.
Aim is to:
1) stimulate interest/discussion in classic era bikes
2) showcase the diversity, ingenuity & workmanship
Here's a couple to start:

Re: Showcase Time - Classic era bikes
Hilly, are those 200s or 250s?
The green ABS special pictured above is apparently a hybrid. Can anyone identify the major components (apart from what looks like a Yamaha tank)?
Bantam D3/D5 frame? Villiers/AJS engine? Fork?? Wheels??

Hey Paul
Couldn't help but have a chuckle at just how much beauty your $11K buys you when to elect to take it to Shannons as opposed to taking the same money to that place in Artarmon.
Cheers as always

Re: Showcase Time - Classic era bikes
Good subject topic John.
I'm back in the UK now but it was good to meet you at Murphy's Ck a few weeks ago, It would have been nice to see the organisers putting some results up but that seems to be the norm within SE Qld clubs.
I have added some pics which might be of interest.
Pic 1 - My Aussie Cub that I rode at Murphy's Ck still with the dust on.
Pic 2 - My new project, a 1951 350 BSA rigid, which will need a bit of work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pic 4 - One of my UK Cubs, this is the one I will ride in the Manx International Classic trial in the Isle of Man in August.
Pic 3 - A really nice Serco Ariel that won one of the last trials I rode before coming back to Aus.
I shall be back in Aus permanently in October so I will be riding as many cold, wet and windy trials here before I leave, if you want more info on wet trials have a look at the reports for the Scottish Pre 65 that had to be cancelled after only 15 sections, I'm glad I didn't get an entry through the ballot system they have. It wouldn't have been funny if you had driven from somewhere in deepest Europe to ride only 15 sections.
Lets see some more GENUINE classics

Re: Showcase Time - Classic era bikes
Yes, Nice to meet you Roger. Shame yr back in UK as I'd have loved to have an in-depth chat w you about classics (it'll have to wait), but keep the pics coming from the Classic scene over there.
Is this Cub pic "genuine" enough for you?
The other pic is of an AJS model I didn't know was in prod'n - albeit a very short run. I read somewhere that there was internal friction when SM & MA both rode for Bultaco thro Commerfords & SM very nearly left to develop this machine. Don't know if its true.
