The state event calendar on the TA site hasn't been updated since January and it doesnt show much about any open events really.
Is this the best place to see what's coming up or where should I be looking?
I have returned to trials after a very long break and I cant find a good state event calendar anywhere.
This makes it hard for new & returning riders like me, not very hospitable.

Don't your practise buddies keep you informed? You are right though Penno, even an early season come and try day or similar to attract new riders.

Do you need to join a new club to ride the bwp round at Appin?

Re: NSW event calendar
Good question Drifter, you should contact someone in the Bankstown club to find out.
I rode a Manly club day recently and my entry fee included a one day club membership fee but I cannot speak for the Bankstown club.
The NSW calendar is rather dissappointing, only 3 open trials (state championship) for the year in NSW and some dates still not confirmed as at 21 April!

Re: NSW event calendar
The calendar can only ever have the events that clubs are prepared to commit to hosting. The starting point for all of us to get more events is convincing our own clubs to host them. I'd suggest being prepared to be part of the solution before starting this conversation though. Events are currently run by the same handful of licensed officials across the state. The best way to help your club and to get more Trial events in NSW is to become a licensed official and fill one of the required key official positions for one or two trials each year.
Just a reminder that everyone who has worked for hours to bring you this disappointing calendar is a volunteer.

Re: NSW event calendar
Yes I totally understand this sport is self supportive but my point is the NSW calendar looks odd to me because I count 23 club events but only 5 Opens (including the ACT events) and one of the opens is for classic & twin shock only.
Could this be due to excessive beaurocracy (paperwork) and lack of officials?

Re: NSW event calendar
I would love to help out more through either officiating or even observing but unfortunately most club point scores don't facilitate riders who want to compete but also stay competitive in the points It would be awesome if riders could have a bye round in order to have a turn of being an official.

Still can't find any info re BWP club. I just want to know if I have to join a club and how much I'm up for. It's like the club doesn't exist!
