Hi Everyone,

There is one thing that I have never forgotten from the days when I was learning to ride, it came from several directions and age groups:

NEVER TRUST A RIDER WITHOUT A PEAK, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT THEY WILL DO!

Some things it seems never change and I can't think of anyone that rides without a peak, off road at least. Dave Pinkerton mustn't have got the same Advise?

Just for you Graham, Mr :italjet: Fanatic!

Italjet twinshock reviewed in Trail and Track October 1986 and they say in the test that it is a 1986 model?
We almost had to shift the date cutoff for Post-Classic eligibility again. It was originally end of 1983, then moved to end of 1986 to allow TLR250s to ride. Phew that was close.

Thanks for posting that article Greg. It was very interesting. I was also good to see the original tank stickers, very different to the Piumas. They are the same as the Piumas though. All the same stuff is on them except the frames and engines are all green under the factory paint. So they used the leftover stock it looks like. I`d still prefer the :Bultaco: though. And the :italjet: engines are very wide and very heavy. I also agree with the peak thing too. It does look a bit silly!

That was a good read on both of those articles Chippy. You would have to be fit to ride a Scott in the SSDT. I have now put an In Motion flicky brake pedal end on the red :italjet: so that should work better now. It had one on it but it was very small and hard to find with your foot. I will be glad to ride my :Bultaco: in the MTCQ Easter Two Day Trial this weekend. Graham.

They are both very good articles Chippy. One thing is the Merlin came first and then Cagiva rebadged them. Ignacio Bulto started Merlin with some other Bultaco engineers. The Bernie Schreiber, Len Weed Trials book is brilliant. Very informative. It looks like I`ll be working on a Jumbo very soon. That should be fun. There must be a reason they are considered to be the best Twinshock ever made! Graham.
