Kt fork

Postby Guy53 » Mon Feb 28, 2011 11:03 am

I just ordered a set of spring for my friend KT 250 from Fred... receved ok but when we disassembled the Canadian KT 250 forks they had a set of long spring instead of 2 shorter spring with a plastic spacer #-o . Can we fit the 2 spring set in the fork, if so does anybody have dimension of that spacer?

Thank's

Guy

We have a special tought for our friend in Christchurch

If my PC keeps going I will do that and post a photo of what it looks like

OK the effective length of the spacer (from spring-end to spring-end) is 128mm
The photos are of the standard fork spring arrangement in a KT250.

Hopefully one last question on those fork. How much oil is best, in the service manual it say's 200 cc, is it OK.

If the book says 200ml then it is probably OK.
I don't measure the volume going in but do measure the depth of oil when completely bottomed and set it to 125mm from the top, with springs removed.

Thank's David, as for the TY forks, I'sure 125 mm will work better
