The Trial was to be held at Bucca, just North of Coff's Harbour , NSW on the property of Sue and Peter Foote. An incredible amount of rain fell over Saturday and Sunday morning and the Trials site was under water by first light Sunday morning. (photos attached).
A course inspection was carried out first thing Sunday morning by MNSW Officials and it was decided to cancel the event. A great deal of the sections were impassable.
The car park was a lake, and anywhere off the road even four wheel drives would have been bogged.
The causeway on the access road was already underwater, and the stream still rising quickly.
Fears were held that even if competitors could get to the trials site, they would not be able be able to compete (without Life Savers present), or get themselves , or their vehicles out later in the day. It was a tough decision for the Officials, but riders, officials and spectators safety was the number one concern.
The organizer would like to extend our gratitude to Sue and Peter Foote, the landowners, who went to an extra ordinary amount of effort to put on this trial.
A large number of the sections are man - made, and a huge amount of hours go into the preparation of the site. Sue and Peter not only maintain and build the trials site, but supply the Observers and do all the catering for the weekend. We can't thank you enough for the massive amount of work you put in. The organizing club - Pacific Park Trials Club - will reimburse Peter and Sue for their costs out of club funds.
Pacific Park Trials Club would also like to extend their thanks to all the Observers and Officials who made time available for the weekend. Special thanks to Peter Whalan and Bob Tindal who made the trip to officiate and not ride.
Obviously entry monies/cheques will not be banked.
Riders will be notified in the next week as to whether they would like to roll that entry fee cheque over to Round 5 later in the year, have the cheque detroyed, or returned.
Again we apologise for the cancellation, but as you can see by the photos below we didn't have enough water wings to go around.
