Recent rain meant some of our regulars were away working on the land on Sunday, but what we lacked in numbers we certainly made up for with quality. Thanks Ross for the excellent pics showing our best riders in action, including Kristie Mckinnon, hopefully more to come at a later date. They also show that the land anywhere west of Cessnock is anything but flat. The highlight of the day was watching Kristie coming to terms with Ross's ageing(!!) Bultaco, the first time she has ridden a twinshock apparently. Her only comment, "I'm giving it back, its scary".
We learn something new everytime we hold an event, and judging by the class riders we have attracted so far we must be doing something right. The site we use is at our disposal at any time, and the owner Jason Newton, (the tall guy with the long face watching Kristie clean the big rock in pic 5 of Ross's post) is working hard to get the campsite and toilets, plus picnic area and shelter, ready for the warmer weather.
Anyone wishing to come over on the Saturday before our events is more than welcome to camp over or we can always find a bed for the less hardy of you somewhere. We have been asked by SQTA if we could organise an event for their riders who will be passing through on their way to the titles in SA in early October.
At the moment we are trying for a two day on the 24/25 September. The Saturday would probably start a little later than usual to allow those arriving on the day to get here without getting up at 4am. If we can get a few NSW riders along, and in particular, the twinshock crew from Denman, we could have our own 'State of Origin' competition. Please make the effort at least once, you won't be disappointed.
Our next event will be on the 26th June, followed by one on the 7th August. Details from me at [email protected]
