The National Bike Trials Championships were held on Saturday 25th February at Eagle Mountain Bike Park in Adelaide, SA.
Echo bikes dominated the event – with ALL podium placed riders in Pro 20” and 26” categories aboard current model Echos!
The competition was run in two groups, with Novice, Sport, and Pro classes riding in the morning, and Elite (and a second round of Pro for those crazy Pro riders competing in both 20” and 26” classes) in the afternoon. The 5 sections were predominantly man made, with a combination of rocks and logs, and also cement blocks, platforms, handrails etc. The sections had to be ridden 3 times.
This venue has a history of extreme weather conditions – and this year did not disappoint, with scorching sun and 40 degree heat on comp day, making for very difficult comp conditions – especially for those Pro riders competing in both 20” and 26”!

Congratulations especially go to Melbourne riders Andrew Dickey, and Nathan Mummery, who won the 26”, and 20” Australian Titles, respectively. Congratulations also go to Kyle Rolands – who received a brand new Echo SL frame, donated by the Echo factory, as a junior encouragement award. And lastly a big well done to all riders who made it to Adelaide and braved the sweltering conditions!
