OMCC members have been hard at work preparing the Glenmaggie site to ensure it is in top condition for the 2013 return event.
Col Ford with his dozer has completed the creek crossing. The crossing is now suitable for 2WD cars to cross both ways. As can be seen on the photos a front wheel drive Peugeot has no trouble crossing the creek both ways. This opens up the other side of the creek for campers which provide a huge amount of extra space for camping. 2WD cars towing trailers will have no problems getting across the creek.
One of Australia’s premier trials magical Glenmaggie is back on next Easter. Before it ended two years ago, it regularly attracted over 150 riders. The wonderfully varied terrain with its mixture of hill climbs, creeks, rocks, banks, logs etc combined with a long 10 km lap make Glenmaggie the most popular site in Victoria. Add in the social atmosphere of camping on site for up to a week makes Glenmaggie Trials rider’s heaven.
Camping will start on Tuesday March 25 and finish on Tuesday April 2. Riding begins on Thursday March 27 till Sunday night. Competition on Saturday March 29 and Sunday March 30. First Aid will be there from Thursday to Sunday. Scrutineering will begin on Wednesday.
Regs and entry forms will be available online at Trials Australia from January 2013. Look out for the next update which will include sponsorship details by the event sponsor Beta Racing who are providing TV advertising of the event.
If you can only get to one trial for the year, make sure this is the one.
