The 8th November saw the first day of EICMA and the global launch of the JTG Trials bike. This bike has been the brainchild of multi World Champion Jordi Tarres, and a dedicated group of engineers and designers based in Aragon, Spain.
Only limited computer designed images have been available to date, so all eyes were on the Spanish stand for the release of the Trials model from JTG. The fans were not dissappointed as the images convey.
Highlights of the bike reveal a two stroke motor initially available in 250, 280 and 300cc capacities. 5 speed gearbox with diapragm clutch, tradtional carburation, and an incredible all up weight of 65KG....amazing.
Brakes and clutch components are from Formula in Italy.
Front Suspension is Tech 8, and the innovative rear side mounted shock is supplied by OLLE. The new side rear linkage system allows for a massive 3 litre airbox. This does not look big on the bike, but allows a very large airbox volume - one of the major contributing factors to achieving good horsepower from a two stroke motorcycle.
The bike can also hold over 3 litres of fuel, a major improvement on most other brands, without the tank area looking bulky or large.
JTG have really designed a bike that will not only perform well, but is easy to maintain and work on.
The radiator can be removed with one bolt. The engine is similarily easy to remove with seperate side spars supporting the radiator and the front of the engine.
The airbox has a side opening door for easy access to the airfilter, and the filter is held in by a spring loaded mechanism , so changes of the filter are simple and lightening fast.
The chain adjusters are not the traditional snail cam, but are an integrated bolt, and locknut arrangement. much more definite in adjustment, and less likely to be damaged or knocked out of alignment.
The footrest hangers are removable so different peg positions will be available.
The JT model trials bike will be available in early 2012, and JTG have confirmed they will be competing in the World Championship, starting in the Junior catagory with Jordi's nephew Pol Tarres. Further information will be available on JTG availability in Australia very soon. Or email [email protected] to be placed on the mailing list as information becomes available.
