To help ensure that the organizers aim of presenting “the best World Trials Championship event ever held anywhere anytime” there will be a working bee at the Championship site on Sunday the 22nd of May.
The event site is in open natural bushland and the main aim is to ensure the sections, spectator, admin and parking areas are as glorious as possible. We will be giving the area a general clean up with the emphasis of getting weeds (particularly Wheel Cacti) and undergrowth controlled now so that the area can be made pristine with further working bees closer to the event.
Brushcutters, whipper snippers, rakes, wheelbarrows, chainsaws, hoes and general gardening tools will be the weapons of choice. Parks Vic will be providing chemicals and equipment to poison the cacti. 4WD’s with trailers (a tipping trailer would be a real bonus) will be the preferred mode of transport – leave your bikes at home.
We will be meeting at the Maldon footy ground (the main paddock for the event). We will be leaving for the sections site at 10:00am –so please be there before that.
The organization of the event is a massive task and any work we can do now will be repaid many times over when the day draws near so any help will be very much appreciated – and you get an early look at the event site. We will be providing a sausage sizzle lunch for all that attend (byo beer and drinks).
If you can roll up on the day please let Col Scott know on 0408 006 603 or Gary Grealy on 54396 333 / 041 341 8525 or [email protected].
