Neil Price (Moto Dynamics Beta) won the 2012 WA State Trial Championship on Sunday, following an amazing ride where he finished the day with a clean score card.
A glorious day in Perth greeted 50 riders including a number from interstate and NZ, in WA for the National Championship the following weekend. Competitors faced 4 laps of 10 sections at the AJS Trials park over a combination of man made and natural sections, with the waterfall section in the main arena proving popular with spectators.
Kiwi Jake Whitaker pushed Price on his all day, and a final tally of 6 saw him take 2nd place from fellow NZ rider Blake Fox.
In B grade it was another Perth local, Tristan Lowe (TL Moto Trials Sherco) with a comfortable win, cleaning 30 of the 40 sections.
Brenton Hogan visiting from SA for the Nationals, took out the Vets category, and NSW youngster James Boyle scored a narrow 1 mark win over Luke Patane in Juniors.
Steve Barrington capped off a great season with the C grade victory, following his move from moto x to trials, with young Conner Hogan from SA taking 2nd spot.
It was a battle of the Honda twin shocks in post classic, Matt Leatherbarrow taking a convincing win from Dave Thomas and Mark Austin.
Talking of post classics, Dick Yates scored a popular victory in club class!, closely followed by Paul Church. Womens honours went to local girl Megan Clarke, followed by sister Luci and QLD rider Nicole casey.
