Aiming to fill a gap between the Junior and Youth classes and the World Pro class, the FIM have introduced a fourth category. The Open International class will also enable riders from the local FMN - MA in the case of Australia - to compete in the WTC events.
Riders will compete over the Blue line, the same line as the Junior class. Riders must meet a number of other criteria:
- be over 16 years of age
- be the holder of a valid driver’s licence, unless the event is held on a closed circuit (no public highway).
Riders who wish to participate in the Open International Cup category but who have already been classified in the 10 best riders of the World Pro final classification in the past 3 years may participate as guests. They will not be classified and will not earn championship points or awards.
For the Australian rounds of the WTC, the number of riders in the Open International class will be restricted and determined by how many entries there are in the other classes.
Further information on entry to this class will be issued by the Organisers in due course.
